Cold Recycled Bound Material (CRBM) is manufactured and installed in compliance with Specification for Highway Works (SHW) Clause 948 and underpinned by Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Vol. 7. ToppBase CRBM is a like-for-like equivalent to traditional asphaltic base and binder courses. However, it is mixed at an ambient temperature using high quality recycled products.
Cement Bound Granular Mixtures (CBGM), is an extremely durable and economic construction material used in both foundation and structural pavement layers. ToppBase CBGM uses 100% recycled aggregates which increase sustainability with no effect on the quality or cost.
Like CBGM, Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) is used as a robust structural element however is commonly specified as a trafficable surface. The material optimises high quality aggregates and binders but is the equivalent of Pavement Quality Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement. ToppBase RCC uses carefully selected high quality recycled aggregate which is easier to maintain than conventional concrete products, faster to lay, and cheaper to make.

The Environmental Agency recognise technology such as ToppBase as a stabilising technology for hazardous materials, specifically asphalt waste containing coal tar. There is a calculated 90% reduction in carbon using the ToppBase range, in comparison to non-recycled asphalt equivalents, without carbon off-setting.
The ToppBase range complies with clause 948 specification for Highways Works, BSI Accredited ISO 9001:2015 and meets all relevant environmental and performance standards in accordance with the Environment Agency’s regulatory position statement 075.
