Nottinghamshire’s McArthurGlen Groups’ East Midlands Designer Outlet has invested in increasing the capacity of the car park by nearly 500 spaces and including 8 electric vehicle charging points.
The decision to invest was made to reflect the continuing commitment to offer outlet users the best facilities. Highways officials deem it as a sensible approach to reduce the overspill parking taking place on the A38 and B6406 slip roads.
Toppesfield were contracted to carry out the delivery of the outlet’s car park extensions, creating over 500 new spaces. This increased the car park to hold 1,830 vehicles. Carrying out the project with effective and consistent communication between Toppesfield, GF Tomlinson & Sons, the wider supply chain and other on-site contractors, Toppesfield were able to deliver the 5,500-tonne project ahead of schedule, whilst dealing with adverse weather causing severe delivery delays.
