Project:
Broxbourne Station

Client:
Graham

Sector:
Rail

Completion:
2022

The Project

In 2022 Broxbourne railway station required extension works to its platforms, to allow for the use of longer trains. The works formed part of Greater Anglia’s £1.4 billion programme to replace every train on the network, improving the travelling experience and increasing capacity to match customer demand.

Our Work

Assisting with the station’s improvement works, Toppesfield were contracted to deliver surfacing works to all four of the station’s platforms.

Working collaboratively with the client and supply chain partners Toppesfield installed temporary Polybridges and ramps to allow for the transportation of material across platforms.

To minimise disruptions to the railway, works had to be carefully planned and organised to be delivered over one bank holiday weekend. Through effective collaboration across the supply chain, Toppesfield were able to successfully deliver the works within the station’s closure, allowing the station to reopen within three days.

Results & Achievements

• Completed works on time, ensuring minimal disturbance to the stations operations

• Toppesfield expert team advised on the most efficient means of delivery to support, due to site restrictions
