Job Description

The role is to provide proactive technical support for our production and surfacing operation, ensuring we are compliant with specifications throughout, trouble-shooting asphalt production issues and take primary responsibility for product quality of asphalt products meet specification and performance requirements within our surfacing division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with Sales department at tender stage, reviewing contract material specification and testing requirements.
  • Provide technical governance and comprehensive support to the operation department with the; resolution of disputes relating to supplier and customer nonconformity reports, responding to technical enquiries and proving technical solutions as required
  • Ensure sampling and testing practices are carried out to required standards
  • Depot level responsibility to ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Plan for production of foamed asphalt and Cement Bound Granular Material as appropriate
  • To be involved and manage product quality and process improvement
  • Sourcing and identifying routes to market for external production, work alongside Marketing to build industry awareness of ToppBase products
  • Maintain a consistent line of communication with all line of business leaders and their teams to sustain and improve quality, customer service and operational excellence
  • Effective handling of customer complaints through investigation of cause and appropriate reporting
  • Pro-actively driving promoting our Health and Safety standards and ensure that you work safely at all times
  • Contribute to the improvement and implementation of technical processes and procedures including research and development plans
  • Monitor specifications and conformity of all asphalt and recycled products ensuring where required correction action is carried out in a timely manner

You will have

  • Full driving license
  • Experience of asphalt production
  • Experience of asphalt installation
  • Technical management position experience
  • Knowledge of testing methods of asphalt and cement bound granular material
  • Experience of dispute resolution
  • Strong IT and report writing skills. Fully proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
