Role Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Apprentice HGV Fitter to join our experienced workshop team. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with an interest in mechanics to learn alongside a highly skilled workforce that is committed to providing a quality service.
- Assist the HGV fitter and carry out preventative and routine maintenance including servicing to plant and machinery to ensure the fleet remains operational
- Along with the HGV Fitter attend sites to carry out breakdown repairs of HGV’s
- Deal with required repairs/ MOT preparations to ensure consistent operation of all fleet vehicles
- Assist with carrying out fault diagnostic, troubleshooting and rectification using the manufacturers computer systems and other diagnostic systems.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to carry out risk assessments before commencing work on HGV’S and equipment. Ensure compliance with method statements and risk assessments, as required
- Work as part of a team to achieve timely, prioritised maintenance, repair and servicing of the companies’ vehicles and plant
- To contribute to the general tidiness and housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment is maintained
- To work towards successful completion of the Vehicle Maintenance apprenticeship qualification
- Undertake any other duties to support the smooth running of our Yards and Depots
